Systems Design Engineer - Command and Control Systems
We have several exciting opportunities within our systems engineering team to develop upgraded and new Command and Control (C2) systems for air defence weapon systems. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will support product development of C2 systems for domestic and export customers in maritime and land applications of air defence.
Our projects include enhancing existing in-service systems and integrating new capabilities with customer platforms and the wider battlespace. Working in C2 at MBDA offers the chance to engage across all areas of the company and witness the entire product development lifecycle. Our systems are crucial for user experience and operational capability.
The C2 system enables operators to understand the battlespace, manage weapon systems, and execute engagements. It identifies threats, creates engagement solutions considering complex constraints, initiates missile firings, and maintains communication during engagements. C2 hardware includes processing units, user interface consoles, safety controls, and tools for maintenance, logging, data analysis, and training.
In your role, you will support the functional design of C2 software, collaborate with system and software architects, analyze requirements and interfaces, propose design modifications, understand algorithm behaviors, generate software and hardware requirements, and investigate customer queries.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in systems design or systems engineering in similar products.
* Passion for innovative functional design, solving complex problems, and enhancing user performance.
* Degree qualification or equivalent experience.

Salary and Benefits
* Salary: Up to £57,000, depending on experience
