Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health Services
Based at Lime Tree Clinic, Brookfield's Hospital, 351 Mill Road, Cambridge, CB1 3DF
This is an extremely exciting time to be working within iCaSH Cambridgeshire. We are looking for a motivated & enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a strong team‑work ethic to join our team in Cambridge. You will be a NMC Registered Nurse or a NMC Registered Midwife with a nationally recognised qualification in Sexual Health and/or Contraception (i.e DFSRH/ BASHH STIF) and a Letter of Competence in Intra Uterine Technique or willingness to undertake this training.
Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 30 hours per week and may include one late night to 8pm.

Job Responsibilities
* Assess the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of patients attending our integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) Services.
* Provide advice and treatments/procedures for patients who require SRH services.
* Act in a responsible manner, being courteous at all times, with sensitivity towards the needs of the individual patient, recognising their right to dignity and privacy.
* Support training and education to professionals, students and other agencies.
* Work as a member of our iCaSH service, willing to undertake further training in SRH as required to support service development.
* Independently assess, plan, treat and evaluate complex programmes of care using Patient Group Directions (PGDs) or non‑medical prescribing (NMP).
* Practice as a prescriber if you have a non‑medical prescribing qualification.
* Communicate, describe and explain clinical, testing and treatment processes in language suitable to the patient group/audience.
* Perform SRH examinations and procedures as clinically indicated/required.
* Interpret and deliver test results, providing advice, appropriate treatment, signposting and follow‑up as required.
* Ensure patients understand medical treatment and follow‑up requirements.
* Provide effective partner notification, supporting the attendance, testing and treatment of partners at risk.
* Record partner notification data for audit, evaluation and planning of services.
* Deliver an effective and appropriate results management process in line with local guidance.
* Perform phlebotomy as required in accordance with Trust and service guidelines.
* Administer vaccines and injections when clinically appropriate.
* Provide contraceptive advice, consultation and choice of method in a timely manner, inclusive of people with complex needs.
* Provide Long‑Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) pre‑assessment consultations and appointments in a timely manner.
* Fit and remove LARC when appropriately trained, or undertake training where required.
* Support patients in identifying and reducing risk‑taking within their sexual behaviours.
* Provide a safe, non‑judgemental environment for patients to ask questions and discuss concerns, with appropriate signposting and/or referral.
* Record interventions accurately, concisely and contemporaneously in patient clinical records in line with local and national guidance and policies.
* Be competent in the management of young people and vulnerable adults, working within Fraser Guidelines and mental capacity legislation, liaising with multidisciplinary teams and safeguarding services.

Person Specification
Essential
* Current NMC registration.
* FSRH Diploma or STIF Intermediate Course.
* Letter of Competence in Intra Uterine Technique (or willingness to undertake).
* Recent experience of working in sexual health (Contraception, GUM or equivalent).
* Able to demonstrate competency in supply of treatments by Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
* Able to work autonomously.
* Competent in phlebotomy (or willingness to undertake training).
* Specialist clinical knowledge in sexual health and/or related specialties.
Desirable
* Non‑Medical Prescribing.
* Cervical Cytology Sample Taker.
