Availability and hours
Availability window: days and times we would like you to be available to work. The hours will be scheduled within these times and you will receive 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. We offer flexibility if your times vary slightly from what is advertised.
Typical patterns include: Sun 18:00–24:00, Tue 20:00–24:00, Sat 18:00–24:00. The table in the original posting shows the periods of time in the week we would like you to be available.
Pay and conditions
Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 per hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. Our policy is to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; you may also work fewer hours (minimum 12) if you prefer, and we would still love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Putting training into practice to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
* Making decisions right for customers and delivering routines that meet customer needs at the right time.
* Participating in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Understanding the store’s performance and the part you play in driving service and sales, reducing waste, shrink and delivering profit.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure delivery in good condition.
* Being yourself, living Tesco values, making everyone feel welcome and following policies.
* May be required to accept deliveries into the store.

* The ability to build rapport so customers leave with a positive shopping experience.
