Role: Assistant Editor
Location: Bedford
Hours: 35 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.30pm
Salary: £30,000
My client is looking for an assistant editor to join the team that produces its suite of RadCom publications and manages its news desk.
The successful candidate will be involved in magazine production, sub-editing, writing articles, and planning content. You will be a core part of the editorial team, working closely with (and being managed by) the RadCom Managing Editor.

Responsibilities:
* Commission articles and liaise with authors
* Sub-edit contributions from writers and columnists
* Guide content for RadCom Basics and RadCom Plus supplements
* Contribute to the weekly news script
* Address queries on technical and amateur radio licensing
* Develop the RadCom portfolio, including new media opportunities
What we are looking for:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is highly desirable
* Positive attitude, enthusiasm for technology, and excellent English skills
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Knowledge of radio and electronics, including amateur radio, is desirable
