The role
This is a specialist role, focused on ensuring that care planning and legal proceedings are timely, robust and centred on children’s best interests. You’ll act as the key link between social workers, legal services and the courts, ensuring quality and accountability throughout the legal process.

You’ll take ownership of tracking and monitoring care proceedings, lead on quality assurance of court reports and social work statements, and chair regular pre-proceedings and court tracking meetings.As part of our Quality Assurance service, you’ll also produce reports to identify themes and areas for improvement, contribute to service development, working closely with the Service manager for Quality Assurance

This is a great opportunity to help shape and strengthen practice across our children's workforce.

About you
You’ll be a registered social worker (Social Work England) with significant experience in care planning, safeguarding, and court proceedings. You’ll have a deep understanding of legal and statutory requirements in children’s social care and bring a proactive, outcomes-focused approach to progressing cases efficiently and effectively.

We’re looking for someone who can lead by example – guiding and mentoring practitioners, supporting the efficient management of case work., and influencing system-wide improvements. Your communication and negotiation skills will be key to supporting the case work across legal teams, courts, and operational services. A strong grasp of quality assurance and performance monitoring will also be essential.
