Digital Services Systems Administrator

Role Overview
The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support and expert knowledge to the force for multiple policing systems, including but not limited to Athena, PND, PNC, LEDS, Evidence/com, and highly confidential covert systems. The role involves managing user access via Active Directory and Sailpoint IdentityNow, diagnosing and resolving issues, and ensuring systems are configured, maintained, and developed to meet changing business needs.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide a resilient system administration and analytical service for all relevant IT systems, ensuring tickets are closed within agreed SLAs and compliance with legislation and policies.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand and meet system support requirements.
* Deliver excellent customer service, taking ownership of issues from initial contact to resolution and providing timely updates.
* Coordinate with technical specialists and service providers, applying escalation procedures as needed.
* Consult with internal developers on RPA process access requirements.
* Interpret business and supplier documentation to improve system effectiveness and user experience.
* Manage system upgrades and patches, including testing and sign-off processes.
* Ensure security of systems by monitoring and managing user privileges and permissions.
* Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, participating in user groups and events.
* Provide bespoke training for system users and keep technical environments up to date.
* Maintain integrity and fairness in daily duties and relationships.
* Undertake additional duties as required.
Knowledge and Experience
* Educated to A Level or equivalent.
* Detailed knowledge of IT systems within large organizations.
* Understanding of confidentiality and sensitive data management.
* Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft applications, Active Directory, and Sailpoint IdentityNow administration.
* Experience working in service and project management environments.
* Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
* Experience with policy, legislation, and guidance adherence.
* Ability to evaluate information and explain complex issues clearly.
