Location: Leeds, North England region - Field-based role - Regular UK travel required

What you’ll do
As a Field Technical Specialist, within a Network Engineering team you will be accountable within the North England region to support liaising with customer, creating accurate requirements for subsequent installation, commissioning, and handover of new services to Operations. You will also undertake 24/7 fault cover (when on call) for multiple network types (IP/DWDM), which provide service to Government Customers. You will also:
1. Undertake surveys, installation, commissioning and testing on Customer & Vodafone network sites, to current VBSE specifications and provide on call 24/7 fault cover as part of a rota for the North of England.
2. Support managed services delivery and in particular take responsibility as lead Field technical specialist for all services across customer and network sites within geographical area of operation.
3. Interpret complex designs and own the requirement to survey/install managed services.
4. Collaborate with Sell, Build, Run operations to ensure all aspects of equipment installation, commissioning and testing are fully supported.
5. Build and maintain relationships with key customer sites and provide a professional interface to Customers, suppliers and Vodafone colleagues.
Who you are
6. Experienced in IP & DWDM networks in a Telecoms Provider environment and be flexible to adapt to wider service delivery requirements.
7. In depth experience in IP/Data/Transmission related field.
8. Experience in Cisco/Ciena/Juniper configuration to install and commission IP and Optical platforms.
9. Able effectively use Telecoms test equipment that is relevant to support the roles duties.
10. Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods, setting own goals, priorities and responsibilities.
