The Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a research nurse/midwife to develop and maintain the Theirworld Edinburgh Birth Cohort (TEBC). You will join a team investigating the causes and consequences of preterm birth on childhood outcomes, leading participant recruitment and data/sample collection within a birth cohort study.

This is a full-time position (35 hours/week), with flexibility for part-time or flexible working patterns. The role is fixed-term (01/10/25 – 31/12/26) with potential extension.

The salary for this position is UE06N: £34,610 to £42,254 per annum, pro-rata if part-time. A market pay supplement of 7% will be added, along with normal incremental pay points 1-9.

Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Employment is contingent upon membership of the PVG scheme and a satisfactory check. Delays in PVG processing may postpone start dates.

Skills and Attributes for Success

* Experience at senior level in nursing or relevant allied health fields dealing with neonates.
* Effective interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
* Neonatal life support certification.
* Strong time management and workload prioritization skills.
