Shape the Future of the Digital Workplace

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workplace Technology Lead to join a growing, technology-driven organisation undergoing significant digital transformation.

This is a highly influential role for a true workplace technology specialist who is passionate about colleague experience, modern productivity platforms and creating seamless digital environments at scale. You'll become the subject matter expert and design authority for the tools, devices and collaboration platforms used by thousands of employees every day.

The Opportunity

As Workplace Technology Lead, you'll own the strategy, standards and roadmap for the modern workplace estate, covering:

  • Microsoft 365
  • Teams
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive
  • Zoom
  • Meeting room technologies
  • Application delivery and lifecycle management
  • Digital workplace adoption and user experience

Working closely with senior technology leaders, operational teams, procurement, security and external partners, you'll drive the evolution of a workplace environment supporting thousands of users across multiple regions.

This is primarily an individual contributor role with significant influence and visibility across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 & Productivity Platforms

  • Act as the design authority for the Microsoft 365 estate.
  • Own the roadmap and governance of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online and related collaboration tools.
  • Lead the organisation's Microsoft Copilot strategy, adoption and optimisation programme.
  • Evaluate new Microsoft features and manage release planning.
  • Drive productivity improvements through automation, AI and collaboration technologies.
  • Define governance standards around sharing, retention, compliance and user experience.
  • Own collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and meeting room technologies.
  • Develop global standards for meeting rooms, audio-visual solutions and hybrid working experiences.
  • Drive improvements in meeting quality, collaboration effectiveness and user satisfaction.
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers.
  • Define standards for headsets, webcams and workplace peripherals.
  • Lead endpoint strategy across Windows and macOS environments.
  • Define laptop, mobile device and accessory standards.
  • Manage device lifecycle programmes from procurement through to disposal.
  • Own Intune, Autopilot and endpoint management standards.
  • Drive modern provisioning and onboarding experiences.
  • Ensure endpoint compliance, security and user experience remain best-in-class.

Application & Productivity Services

  • Manage the end-user application portfolio.
  • Drive application rationalisation and software optimisation initiatives.
  • Oversee packaging, deployment and self-service software delivery.
  • Partner with procurement and licensing teams to maximise value from technology investments.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the user experience through automation and modern tooling.

Adoption, Experience & Continuous Improvement

  • Measure and improve digital employee experience using analytics and user feedback.
  • Build and maintain workplace technology standards.
  • Champion accessibility, inclusivity and modern working practices.
  • Establish user communities and champions networks to accelerate adoption.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Workplace Technology specialist with a strong track record of designing and operating modern digital workplace environments at scale.

Expert-level Microsoft 365 knowledge, including:

  • Teams
  • SharePoint Online
  • OneDrive
  • Exchange Online
  • Purview

Experience delivering and managing Microsoft Copilot in production environments

Strong expertise in:

  • Zoom & Zoom Rooms
  • Hybrid meeting technologies
  • Meeting room solutions

Endpoint management experience across:

  • Windows
  • macOS
  • Jamf (or equivalent)
  • Modern workplace security controls
  • User adoption programmes
  • Digital employee experience improvement

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Microsoft 365 certifications
  • Zoom or AV technology certifications
  • Exposure to ISO27001, Cyber Essentials or security-focused workplace environments
  • Experience supporting technology integration following mergers, acquisitions or business growth initiatives.
