Brief Description
The Mechanical and Electrical Locking Team are a national team responsible for the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of 385 mechanical signal boxes, 370 ground frames, and associated equipment across the rail network, from Wick to Cornwall. As you would probably expect from such unique equipment, there are very few parts that can just be bought off the shelf. Many of our replacement parts are recovered items which are refurbished in-house by our team. It takes a wide range of unique and highly skilled expertise to sustain this function. Whilst we are predominately known for our expertise in mechanical signaling, our wide skills base means that we also carry out works for other parts of the business as requested.
