Our client is one of the UK’s foremost automotive distributors, a large, ambitious and successful £300m subsidiary of a wider Group, supplying a range of premium brand vehicles, aftersales and parts services through a multi-site network across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. With significant opportunities for future growth, an experienced and driven Managing Director is required to take this already excellent company to even greater levels of performance.\n\nThe Role\n\nReporting to the Group CEO, and with full P&L accountability, key responsibilities will be to:-\n\n * Provide inspirational leadership to an experienced senior team, steering department heads to deliver and exceed budget expectations\n\n * With a focus on sales, deliver the company’s annual business plan and strategy, achieving all strategic, commercial, operational and financial growth objectives\n\n * Initiate, implement and execute ambitious and realistic plans to continually improve the company’s market position\n\n * Astute and prudent management of the company’s financial performance, investment and cost control protocols\n\n * Develop and strengthen key stakeholder relationships with manufacturer partners to secure current representation and identify future opportunities\n\n * Provide a strong leadership framework and control to ensure HSEQ standards are maintained and enhanced across multiple locations\n\n * Enable a positive and dynamic culture of excellence across the business, encouraging staff engagement, training, development and appraisal\n\nAbout You\n\nWe are looking for a first class, high integrity Managing Director – a dynamic business leader – with an outstanding pedigree in driving performance and profitable growth in a similar or associated sector to the client. Strategically and financially aware and with high level commercial and operational capability, you will be comfortable managing a large, multi-site business of this nature. You will have contributed significantly to influencing business performance, leading great teams, whilst ensuring revenue and margin objectives are achieved.
A consummate professional, with superb relationship building, communication and presentation skills, you will be a real business driver, combining a shrewd commercial mind-set with excellent numerical and analytical awareness.
