Keoghs is a leading provider of legal and claims solutions to insurers, businesses, and other entities in the insurance sector.
The department handles pursuing subrogated recoveries for various insurer clients. This new role in our post-litigation team focuses on managing a portfolio of Delegated (DA) litigated cases, where no defence has been received, to ensure damages and costs are recovered. The role involves requesting judgments in a timely manner and referring cases to enforcement if necessary. Additionally, there will be a small allocation of liability-admitted vehicle damage claims for training and progression in handling defended claims.
Key Accountabilities
1. Organise, prioritise, and handle workload according to standard procedures to meet critical deadlines and KPIs/SLA targets.
2. Manage litigation processes effectively to meet KPIs and SLA standards, including:
* Adhering to court deadlines
* Drafting court documents
* Applying for judgments
* Negotiating quantum and settlements
* Ensuring prompt payment of damages and costs
* Instructing enforcement actions
1. Use case management systems effectively to ensure:
* Accurate and timely reserving of all key information
* Meeting critical dates
* Documenting actions and strategies with file notes
* Labeling all documents clearly
* Populating relevant client MI for case tracking
2. Deliver quality work meeting audit standards.
3. Drive personal development.
4. Contribute to team efforts, collaborate to achieve targets, and positively influence team morale.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
* Experience in a legal environment or legal academic background.
* Preferably experience in quantum negotiations or knowledge of tort law.
* Proven ability to:
o Meet deadlines
o Handle calls and enquiries from clients and stakeholders
o Organise and prioritise work using case management systems
o Work collaboratively within a team
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
* Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Open to constructive feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
