Job summary
Role of Dental Nurse plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality emergency dental care. Working collaboratively within a dedicated team, you will assist Dentists in providing patient-centred services, ensuring a smooth and professional experience under the ethos of "Putting Patients First." The role involves preparing and maintaining the dental surgery for each session, adhering to strict protocols to minimise risks from cross‑infection, hazardous chemicals, or radiation. You will also support administrative tasks, working alongside the dentist and receptionist to manage records and schedules effectively, whether manually or through computerised systems. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety and care, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance. You will contribute to creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for both patients and the team.
Main duties of the job
Essential in delivering emergency dental care, supporting dentists in treatments, and ensuring the surgery is prepared, clean, and compliant with strict infection control and health and safety protocols. You will maintain accurate records, handle administrative tasks like stock management, and assist with patient charges, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to legal and organisational standards. Collaboration and professionalism are key, with the nurse working closely with colleagues to provide seamless patient care. They follow health and safety procedures, participate in mandatory training, and stay informed on best practices to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Upholding a professional image, you will adhere to organisational and regulatory guidelines, including the NHS Code of Conduct and CQC requirements.
