Job overview

Do you want to be part of an innovative, dynamic service that is committed to delivering the best care by the best people?

We are looking to appoint Band 6 Specialist Practitioners to our CAMHS Intensive Home Treatment Team, this team works closely with the CAMHS Crisis team. This is an exciting opportunity for mental health/learning disability nurses with experience of mental health to progress their skills working within the Intensive Home Treatment and CAMHS. Experience of working with young people with emotional or mental health difficulties or working in a mental health urgent care/ crisis setting is desirable but not essential.

The CAMHS Crisis & Intensive Home Treatment Team provides a 24/7 community crisis service for young people up to the age of 18 years. The team also provides intensive intervention, home treatment and in-reach into the CAMHS inpatient/acute hospital setting.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have strong engagement skills, excellent communication skills and some experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and professions. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and undertake the crisis assessment of young people, care plans, and provide psychological interventions in relation to the young person’s presenting need. They will also lead/supervise interventions provided by junior staff.

The CAMHS Crisis & Intensive Home Treatment Team works closely with our CAMHS Inspire Inpatient Service and will support young people whilst in-patient to facilitate early discharge. Therefore, the successful candidate will be provided with additional training regarding in-patient working to support this joint working.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week 09:30-19:30 but would expect to work flexibly.
