We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire.

About the role
As a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer, the selection of the right components for a design is critical to its success. You will work across the design, new product engineering, and procurement teams, responsible for the selection, introduction, and maintenance of components within the company's databases and documentation systems. Your duties will include:
* Introduction and maintenance of component records in internal systems
* Establishing and maintaining technical contacts with major manufacturers and suppliers
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain approvals for new and alternate components and verifying regulatory approvals
* Disseminating critical component information, including new introductions, last-time buy, and obsolescence notifications
* Assisting with component selection, pricing, and lead time data for design and manufacturing operations
About you
To be successful as a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer, you should have:
* A degree in electronics or substantial relevant experience
* Ideally 2 years of industrial experience in a related role
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Problem-solving skills and initiative to find solutions
* Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
* A keen eye for detail
* Experience with Excel and MRP/ERP systems

The role offers a salary of up to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus:
