The Opportunity
As a Child Safety Practitioner, Child Safety Officer (50 (d)) or Child Safety Practitioner (50 (d)) you will work within a rewarding role providing assistance to families and engaging them with services in the wider community in the beautiful or Kimberley region. You will work to build resilience in children, families and the community which also increases social wellbeing. These roles provide varied and exciting introduction to Child Protection and the approaches to enhance child safety and wellbeing.

Staff in the build meaningful connections with children and families, working in partnership to support positive outcomes. A significant proportion of the region’s population is Aboriginal, providing an enriching opportunity to work alongside communities with deep connections to culture, Country, ceremony and the arts.

4. 5 Days Commuted Time Off in Lieu + 5 Days North West Leave after completing 12 months service in the region,
5. Annual Leave Travel Concession – After 12 months service in the region, the Department will cover cost for return flights to and from Perth for yourself and any eligible dependents,
6. Utility bills and air con subsidies from September to April,
7. Regional Salary Packaging.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months across the Department of Communities.

Under our Child Protection Workforce Model, priority will be given to qualified applicants in the first instance to maintain a qualified workforce. Should a qualified applicant not be identified then this selection process will be used to fill the vacancy.
