Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician

We are looking for enthusiastic, highly self‑motivated individuals to join our Pharmacy team as pre‑registration trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT). As a PTPT you will undertake a two‑year Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship programme, leading to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
The programme includes distance‑learning study one day a week via Bradford College and regular workplace assessments. Upon successful completion you will be required to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Main duties
* Support medicines supply and optimisation throughout the Trust.
* Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, exercising professional judgement and maintaining accuracy and quality.
* Assist in the efficient running of the dispensary, prioritising work and solving problems.
* Dispense prescriptions, issue prescribed items and contribute to pharmaceutical stock control.
* Provide pharmacy ward‑based services, taking patient medication histories, assessing patient medication and educating patients on medication optimisation.
* Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines and products.

Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C (4) or above, including Maths, English Language and one other subject.
* Science (preferably Biology or Chemistry) or two years of pharmacy assistant experience or a level‑2 pharmacy qualification, subject to a screening test.
Experience
* Experience in a customer‑service role.
* Work experience in hospital or community pharmacy.

* Knowledge of the role of hospital pharmacy and pharmacy technicians.
