The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the groups financial control, reporting, and compliance functions, ensuring robust governance and financial integrity across all entities within the group. This is a strategic and operational position responsible for delivering the organisations Corporate Plan, Vision and Values through high quality, high impactful leadership of the organisation's Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance and Transactional processing teams.
The role:
? Support the production of accurate, timely, and consolidated monthly management accounts, ensuring integrity across all group entities.
? Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with FRS 102, and UK GAAP.
? Coordinate the external audit process, ensuring deadlines are met and audit recommendations implemented.
? Provide insightful financial analysis to the Executive Team and Group Board to support strategic decision-making.
? Support in the production of the groups annual budgeting process, consolidating subsidiary budgets into a coherent group financial plan.
? Support the development of new financial models to assess investment opportunities.
? Ensure financial performance aligns with the organisations strategic and regulatory objectives.
? Maintain a strong internal control environment across the group and subsidiaries.
? Review, update, and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal governance and regulatory requirements.
? Oversee VAT and corporation tax returns.
Qualifications, experience:
? Fully qualified accountant.
? Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge.
? Proficiency with finance systems and advanced Excel;
? Significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a regulated environment.
? Experience of preparing group consolidated accounts and managing multiple subsidiaries.
? Experience of working with Boards, Audit & Risk Committees, and external auditors.
? A knowledge of treasury management experience, including covenant compliance and cashflow forecasting.
? Track record of developing and managing high-performing finance teams.
