Job Summary
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. As part of our civil servant team, you’ll be at the forefront of information warfare, countering disinformation, safeguarding critical data, and ensuring information integrity in a rapidly evolving digital battlespace. You’ll work with state-of-the-art tools, including AI, advanced analytics, and next-gen tech, helping the Army outthink, outmaneuver, and outpace its adversaries.
This role involves coordinating intelligence direction, preparing inputs for Army and Defence forums, and assisting in strategy and policy development. Awareness of Five Eyes, NATO, and national intelligence policies is essential, with the ability to translate these into effective Army policies aligned with the Land Operating Concept.
The role requires a strong understanding of security, cyber risks, and the ability to engage with Defence, Government, and industry stakeholders. Occasional UK travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver intelligence governance actions around strategy, policy, and compliance
* Identify and mitigate coherence risks across intelligence, CEMA, and security fields
* Produce and oversee intelligence-related policies
* Conduct assurance activities and maintain awareness of ISTAR and CEMA developments
* Support Defence Intelligence Governance and develop shared situational awareness
* Establish knowledge management mechanisms for functional coherence
Candidate Requirements
We seek a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and in teams, and experience in security and intelligence disciplines. Cyber skills and awareness are desirable, with opportunities for upskilling.
Essential Skills
* Knowledge of HUMINT, OSINT, SIGINT, CI, and All Source Analysis
* Understanding of UK intelligence structures and policies
* Stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable Skills
* Experience within the UK Intelligence Community
* Relevant intelligence or cyber qualifications
* Membership of professional security bodies

Additional Information
Salary: £44,590 + £12,917 pension contribution. Benefits include 25-30 days leave, pension scheme, flexible working, training, and other staff benefits. The role is part-time (37 hours/week), with potential for flexible arrangements.
