Senior Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Project/Programme manager to lead major strategic projects. You will work collaboratively with the wider project delivery team supporting and delivering a range of changes in a very fast paced environment. Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, you will be accountable for a programme of changes working closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the full project lifecycle is managed and delivered adding significant customers value to the UK business unit.
In the first 24 months you will lead the project to relocate Asendia UK’s head office and automated parcel processing centre
Your Tasks
* Lead stakeholders through the project lifecycle, planning, risk and dependency management to ensure the change is delivered to the stated business objectives
* Communicate with business and IT stakeholders, providing regular and relevant updates/reports as appropriate
* Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary
* Have relevant international import/export industry knowledge to support a large change programme for 2025 and 2026
* Work closely with Business Analysts and testers to ensure that all requirements are documented and delivered to the appropriate quality and with minimal issues post implementation
* Ability to identify and manage issues and risks ensuring business and stakeholder expectations are achieved
* Work with the wider Project Delivery and IT teams to support the technical system requirements gathering process to drive the design of quality technical solutions
* Work with various business functions supporting the delivery and implementation of quality end-to-end processes
* Provide continuity and cover for the Head of Project Delivery in periods of absence, with the ability to build relationships and networks across Asendia Group
Change management
* Run small change initiatives and take ownership of assigned deliverables
* Push the optimisation of business performance by continually looking to improve the alignment of business processes, in conjunction with business process owners across the whole supply chain
* Support project teams during the analysis and planning stages of software development/change implementation
* Ensure changes are rolled out and transitioned successfully into business as usual processes
Continuous Improvement
* Drive the adoption of best practice in the Project Delivery team and business areas and support the use of standardised processes, systems and solutions
* Identify and progress process or systems improvements through local change flows
Experience & Demonstrable Skills
Qualifications & Training
* Project management accreditation (APM, Prince2 or Agile)
* An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in the relevant IT or business discipline
* Programme management accreditation
Experience
* Knowledge of the project lifecycle process
* Understanding of the software development life-cycle process
* Knowledge of UAT and ELS processes
* Ability to build strong relationships across complex organisations
* E-Commerce/retailer/logistics/post industry experience
* Import and export industry experience with good understanding around customs processes
* Infrastructure projects
Knowledge
* Interest in technology and how this supports operational processes
* Continuous improvement methodology training (Lean Six Sigma or equivalent
* Understanding of logistics and end to end parcel operations
