IT support/Service Management EngineerContract: 12 Months Inside IR35Day Rate: £170 per dayLocation: Glasgow The expectation is 5 days working in the office with ad hoc flex if/when required.Job Description:Responsible for supporting the current desktop environment along with a high number of applications used in the firm. The role provides technical support to 70+ staff and will be part of the wider team who are based in Glasgow. The successful candidate should already have a sound level of IT support/Service Management experience and be willing to learn and take ownership of supporting the Dublin office.The role's responsibilities will progress towards:Day to day operational support of the desktop environmentEnd point troubleshooting of hardware, operating systems, Microsoft suite - O365)Application troubleshooting and incident management across a range of standard and proprietary applicationsProvide local IT infrastructure support across a range of technologies, including network, voice and serverSupport of voice and video technologies, including mobileInteracting with other support groups (local and global) across multiple platformsAct as a local project resource in large/global initiativesAbility to independently run smaller, local projectsSkills RequiredStrong analytical problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to frame technical information in an appropriate fashion based on target audienceExcellent follow-up skills: must take initiative and stay with problem from beginning to endAbility to work independently with little supervision as well as in a team environmentComprehensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, applications and computer hardwareUnderstanding of Network and IPT infrastructureUnderstanding of virtualisation technologies
