About the role: The Senior PhotonAssay™ Technician provides support to Chrysos’ internal teams and external clients in support of our PhotonAssay™ instruments deployed globally. They respond to queries, diagnose causes, troubleshoot events and implement solutions. Key focus being on-site support for customer. This hybrid role offers the best of both worlds: you will be involved in some hands-on maintenance of the PhotonAssay™ system, giving you a strong technical understanding of the equipment, as well as ensuring accurate assay data is delivered to our customers. What you will do: Data Quality Provide on-site based monitoring and support of PhotonAssay™ instruments to ensure client expectations for availability, accuracy and overall performance are met or exceeded Client Technical Support Provide timely and accurate responses to client and stakeholder interactions, including analysing reports, responding to emails, phone calls and explain how to rectify technical issues Provide practical assistance in the set-up and commissioning of new instruments as required Coordinate and lead regular scheduled client and stakeholder meetings Develop training and education materials Interact with local and overseas Chrysos staff and clients in support of scheduled and unscheduled events Maintenance Hands-on maintenance of PhotonAssay™ on-site that includes mechanical, electrical and software systems. Scheduled monthly maintenance as well as responding to breakdowns on short notice to minimise downtime and maximise availability. Generating detailed reports about the maintenance and repairs completed. Technical support service via phone, e-mail, Slack and remote computer login for troubleshooting and performance checks during and out-of-office hours as agreed. This will involve liaising with support staff at Chrysos’ headquarters and our technology partner in China. Training of the customer on the safe operation and basic troubleshooting of the equipment. Supervising contractors and managing upgrades or repairs making sure all engineering specifications and safety protocols are followed. Assisting in the continuous improvement of the processes associated with the maintenance of PhotonAssay™ Inventory management and record keeping on site. Senior Team Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee the Technical Support roster, ensuring team member availability for supporting of the Global roster. This includes personally working on roster to meet business requirements. Weekly 1-1’s with rostered local team members Key contact point for customer, acting as Site Laboratory Owner Achieve >90% PhotonAssay™ availability and high measurement accuracy Utilise existing or developing skills to identify opportunities for improvement Contribute to a culture that values collaboration, technical excellence and on-going staff learning and development Who you are: Essential Tertiary qualifications in engineering or science or demonstrated equivalent experience Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical equipment Data/Information analysis and reporting experience Customer service and Field Service experience in the mining or laboratory sector Safety first focus Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration across different technical disciplines Ability to work in a global team environment across different time zones Ability to problem solve methodically Current Driver’s license Familiarity with modern web applications and Microsoft outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint Desirable A strong physics background Experience leading a technical team Experience performing quality assurance in a laboratory environment Experience performing data or statistical analysis in a laboratory or commercial environment Experience with simple scripting, plotting or programming tool such as Power BI, Python, R or similar Familiarity with basics electronics testing and troubleshooting, including use of tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators and multi-meters Who we are (Our values): Safety is a Non-Negotiable - Safety isn’t just a value — it’s our way of life.
