Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: 29-31 Montgomery Street, Belfast
Campaign Service/Cause: Volunteering
Remuneration: £25,476 - £27,919 Pro-rata
Overall Purpose of Post: The Volunteer Engagement Co-Ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and coordination across the organization. The role will ensure adherence to our data management strategy, effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. The postholder will facilitate volunteer recruitment, induction, and support, contribute to service development, and promote good practice in service delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance, working closely with Service Leads & SMT.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Volunteer Co-ordination: Developing recruitment strategies, managing the volunteer database, matching skills to projects, processing Access NI checks, updating role descriptions, organizing training, developing new initiatives, promoting the service, liaising with agencies, and recognizing volunteers.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning: Developing monitoring and evaluation processes, assessing outcomes, capturing volunteer experiences, conducting satisfaction surveys, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
3. Quality Assurance and Development: Reviewing policies, maintaining standards, promoting diversity, and ensuring best practices in volunteer management.
4. Data and Information Management: Collecting and analyzing data, ensuring GDPR compliance, and supporting service improvements and fundraising.
5. External Relationships: Building stakeholder relationships, attending external meetings, and developing partnerships.
6. General: Supporting volunteers within a multidisciplinary team, representing Cancer Focus NI, promoting services, and undertaking other duties as required. Willingness to undertake training and flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Person Specification includes experience in delivering training, organizing events, managing people, and relevant qualifications. Skills required are excellent communication, organization, negotiation, IT proficiency, teamwork, and independence. Personal qualities include adaptability, empathy, commitment, and flexibility. A full driving license and access to transport are essential.
Desirable criteria include experience in health and social care, community engagement, volunteer development, and relevant management qualifications.
