You’ll join a product development team focused on the design, testing, validation, and characterisation of optical components and laser systems. The role is highly hands-on and lab-based, involving the development of test equipment, support of new product introductions, and close collaboration with mechanical, manufacturing, and wider R&D teams.
The company are based in a state-of-the-art facility with multi-million-pound equipment, allowing you to witness cutting-edge technology all being made under the same roof.
This position suits an engineer who enjoys practical problem-solving and applying physics and engineering principles to complex, performance-critical systems. You’ll be involved across the development lifecycle, contributing to verification, qualification, and continuous improvement activities on custom, non-standard projects.
Key experience includes:
Hands-on work with optical, laser, or fibre-based systems
Strong grounding in applied physics, optics, or mechanical engineering
Experience in a product development or advanced engineering environmentA degree in Applied Optics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience is required. Experience with high-power lasers, optical components, fibres, or related industries such as aerospace or advanced instrumentation would be advantageous
