Job Responsibilities * Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including vehicle inspections and MOT prep in accordance with company standards and legal requirements. * Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on a variety of bus types using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals. * Conduct repairs and replacements of components such as engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical wiring. * Complete all necessary documentation, including job cards, defect reports, and service sheets, accurately and in a timely manner. * Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and environmental procedures. * Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and operational teams to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure fleet availability. * Participate in ongoing training and development to keep up-to-date with new technologies and maintenance practices. * Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment. Job Qualifications * Recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent). * Proven experience as a heavy vehicle fitter, preferably within a bus or coach operating environment. * Strong diagnostic skills for identifying and rectifying a wide range of mechanical and electrical faults. * Proficiency in using workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic software. * A full UK Driving Licence is essential; a PCV (Category D) licence is highly desirable. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. * Good communication skills, both written and verbal. * A commitment to health and safety and delivering high-quality workmanship.
