Role Overview
This is a five-year fixed funding position working on a large Research England funded project titled ‘Embedding Trust in Evaluation’, with project funding until June 2030. The post involves collaboration with principal investigators at the University of Southampton to deliver innovative research on research policy and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct literature reviews on current approaches for assessing NTOs.
2. Establish and ensure success of the Evidence Stream of the E-TIE project.
3. Plan and conduct ethnographic and interview-led research concerning REF2029 evaluation panels and actors.
4. Develop methods for capturing the process and outcomes of HEI sector engagement activities.
5. Analyze research results using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
6. Lead and assist in writing research findings for peer-reviewed journals.
7. Disseminate findings through various media and channels.
8. Engage with stakeholders to maximize the impact of the research.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates are those seeking a long-term post-doctoral or early research career opportunity with a focus on research policy, evaluation, peer review, or research culture. Applicants should have a relevant track record, experience liaising with stakeholders, and expertise in qualitative methods such as interviews and ethnography.
