Overview
Senior Mechanical Design Manager (Medical Sector) at TieTalent. We are seeing a period of exceptional growth in our medical and scientific sector team and offer exciting career opportunities for engineers with extensive medical product development and project management experience.
You will work alongside other exceptional individuals to help develop and implement our medical and scientific sector marketing plan. This includes pitching to potential clients, creating detailed costed proposals, and nurturing long-term relationships with key strategic clients. You will plan and manage a diverse range of complex medical product development projects against challenging timescales and budgets, while also taking on the technical lead role on these projects.
As a Sector Manager in our medical and scientific sector, you will collaborate with designers, mechanical, electronics and software engineers, and other skill teams to integrate the visual and functional aspects of medical products and create class-leading designs that deliver real benefits to users. Many products we design go to market and are highly visible, and it is rewarding to contribute to their success and impact on people’s lives.
Responsibilities
* Plan and manage a diverse range of medical product development projects within defined timescales and budgets.
* Act as technical lead on projects and guide multi-disciplinary teams.
* Collaborate with designers, mechanical, electronics and software engineers to integrate visual and functional aspects of medical products.
* Develop and deliver marketing initiatives, including client pitches, proposals, articles, and presentations.
* Establish and nurture long-term relationships with strategic clients.
* Represent the company at medical industry events and trade shows.
* Ensure delivery within ISO 13485 quality framework and manage quality, cost, time, and risk targets.
* Lead by example with a can-do attitude, inspiring colleagues and clients.
* Maintain attention to detail and drive for excellence in engineering and delivery.
What you need
* A 1st or Upper 2nd degree in mechanical, mechatronics or design engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
* Experience in a medical product design or development environment, applying CAE tools and computational techniques across various manufacturing processes and materials.
* Track record of delivering medical projects and managing multi-disciplinary medical projects and client relations.
* Ability to plan, quote, and manage financial and commercial aspects of medical product development.
* Experience guiding and checking work of multi-disciplinary project teams.
* Strong problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills with clients and suppliers.
* Willingness to travel to medical industry events and represent the company.
* Support for development and delivery of sector marketing initiatives.
* Establishing and maintaining strong long-term relationships with strategic clients.
* Enthusiastic, hardworking, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence.
* Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection moulding.
* Eligible to work in the UK and prepared to work in Warwick studios (relocation or commuting as needed).
