Join to apply for the Geo Environmental Consultant role at Tetra Tech Europe.
We are looking for a Ground Investigation Engineer to join our team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established and growing regional team, part of Tetra Tech’s 100 strong and expanding national geo-environmental resource.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations and assessments.
* Produce desk study assessments, collect site data accurately, and prepare detailed factual and interpretative reports.
* Undertake ground gas and groundwater monitoring works and assessments.
* Be part of a busy team delivering technical excellence, client care and effective project management.
* Collaborate with other land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geotechnical specialists to deliver holistic solutions; work with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with planning, environment and engineering teams.
Key attributes
* Sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self-motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Willingness to travel for ground investigation works (at least 50% site-based; overnight stays possible).
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in geology, engineering geology or a relevant environmental science discipline. A post-graduate qualification such as a Master’s degree is beneficial.
* Working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM, IEMA or Geol Soc.
* Experience of ground investigation, including scoping, set-up, logging, supervision, laboratory scheduling, groundwater and ground gas monitoring and factual reporting.
* Full, preferably clean, driving license.
* Team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication; IT literate.

* SSSTS or SMSTS
* First Aid (3 day course)
* CSCS card relevant to the position
* Water Hygiene Card
