We are seeking an administrator with the drive, motivation and enthusiasm to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the delivery of a specialist hospital pharmacy clinical trials service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will join the specialist pharmacy team responsible for delivering all aspects of pharmaceutical research in accordance with EU legislation, Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (EU GMP) and all other relevant medicines regulations and ethical requirements.
The post holder will provide administrative support to the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team and include:
* Completion of all relevant trial documentation
* File maintenance and archiving of trial documentation
* Data collection and entry
* Stock control and dispensing of clinical trial material
* Controlled temperature monitoring
* Diary management – raising awareness to key scheduled dates, meetings and deadlines
To support the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team through liaison with the Pharmacy department, members of the NBT Research & Development team, research teams and sponsors and/or their representatives.

Person specification
Education / Training / Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or a recognised equivalent qualification
Desirable criteria
* Valid ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification (awarded within the past 3 years)
Work Experience
Essential criteria
* Recent experience working as an administrator
* Experience of working to procedures, protocols and systematic work practices with very high degrees of accuracy
Desirable criteria
* Previous employment in a hospital or community pharmacy
* Experience working in a dispensary and dispensing medications
* Experience with dispensing a variety of clinical trial prescriptions
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Essential criteria
* Ability to work systematically and methodically with a very high degree of accuracy
* Able to maintain accurate record keeping
* Communicates effectively in English
* Able to work closely with other teams in a multidisciplinary setting
* Standard IT competencies in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel or equivalent software applications
Desirable criteria
* Ability to demonstrate a broad knowledge and clear understanding of clinical trials and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
* Familiar with all relevant Trust and departmental policies and procedures
Personal Qualities / Special Circumstances

* Able to work under own initiative as an individual and as part of a team
* Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients/carers, ward and medical staff in written and verbal forms
* Has an adaptable and flexible approach to work
Desirable criteria
* Has excellent time management and self‑management skills. Capable of prioritising effectively and achieving deadlines through robust logical planning and organisation.
* Ability to identify, troubleshoot and manage problems but also aware of own limits
