The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in the preparation and production of food across all areas of the hotel, including the restaurant, afternoon tea, banqueting, and weddings. This is an entry-level role aimed at building basic culinary skills, following hygiene and safety standards, and contributing to a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
THE ROLE
* Assist in food preparation for hotel restaurant, conference & banqueting, weddings and afternoon teas
* Prepare ingredients, basic dishes, garnishes
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, following cleaning schedules and hygiene standards.
* Follow all food safety, health & safety, and allergen control procedures
* Store food items correctly, including labelling and rotation in line with kitchen procedures.
* Work under the supervision of Chef de Partie or above, learning techniques and gaining experience in different sections of the kitchen.
* Support smooth kitchen operations during service periods and assist with setup and breakdown.
* Attend training sessions and actively develop culinary knowledge and skills.
