The Role
You will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely bookkeeping services across a varied portfolio of clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Maintaining accurate financial records and reconciling accounts
* Managing sales and purchase ledgers and the nominal ledger up to trial balance
* Handling bank reconciliations and processing client transactions
* Preparing VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks
* Liaising professionally with clients to address queries and request documentation
* Supporting the wider team with general accounting duties
This role offers the chance to work autonomously while being part of a supportive team environment.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
* Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally from a practice environment or as a self‑employed professional
* Confidence using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar
* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* A proactive and client‑centric approach
* A bookkeeping or accountancy qualification (eg AAT) or relevant experience
