Job summary

We are looking for a reliable, passionate, and organized individual to join our team as a kitchen assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to further your career and take on a rewarding role within the health and social care sector.


Main duties of the job

As a kitchen assistant, you will support the chef in creating healthy and balanced meals and snacks, ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens. You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen area, adhering to COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols. You will work as a team player, with the ability to work independently when needed, effectively managing your time. Additionally, you will provide support, communication, and engagement to the residents.

What is required from you?

* A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
* Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential.
* 1 x Part time contract of 18 hours available, to include alternate weekends
* 1 x Part time contract of 30 hours available, to include alternate weekends

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

* Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
* Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
* Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
* Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
