Main Scope of Role:
The Senior IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our expanding Windows server infrastructure and application platforms. They ensure the smooth deployment and operation of applications, including the lifecycle of the operating system and core IT software such as Anti-malware, backup clients deployed on Evotec's infrastructure. This includes the delivery of, administration, running, diagnosing, log checking, and troubleshooting of these environments and application platforms.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and implement Microsoft Windows Server Environment components to ensure optimal performance.
2. Provide IT systems support and operational services, ensuring the company's systems are performing correctly.
3. Participate in project teams and drive core components to implement new IT systems and services.
4. Provide in-depth troubleshooting of the company's IT services.
5. Develop and improve detailed process and procedure documentation to support IT operations and proactively make recommendations for process improvements.
6. Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system builds, configurations, startup/shutdown procedures, and Technical How To's (THTs).
7. Respond to tickets and automated system alerts and logs, working within an ITSM tool and ensuring change management is followed as needed.
8. Proactively ensure high availability of Windows server platforms by applying patches, monitoring performance, identifying issues, and implementing fixes.
9. Take ownership of ITSD implementation tasks, monitor work in progress, and coordinate with other ITSD teams to ensure timely completion.
Technical Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
* Comprehensive knowledge of providing IT services within a Directory-enabled environment.
* High working knowledge of Microsoft server platforms (2019, 2022).
* Knowledge of IPv4 networking, subnets, routing, VPN, and VLANs.
* Experience with virtualization (VMware), storage NAS and SAN, and backup technologies.
* Adherence to global processes such as change management.
* Support for core IT software like Anti-malware.
* Ability to support creation, maintenance, and adherence to global policies and procedures.
* Experience maintaining asset inventories.
* Ability to produce and follow detailed technical documentation.
* Experience in regulated environments (ISO27001, GxP) is beneficial.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and task planning abilities.
* Knowledge of IT frameworks such as ITIL, Kanban, Lean IT, or Agile.
* Knowledge of Linux is beneficial.

* BSc or equivalent in a relevant field, with substantial IT experience.
