Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic one-on-one maths tutor that is passionate about helping others learn. You would be teaching students as young as primary school age and as old as year 11. It is important that you are confident at communicating well and explaining your reasoning clearly. An ideal candidate is a student in sixth form or collage student looking for part time work and experience, you'll need to be patient and connect well with people.
There is an opportunity to increase your pay just after your first 3 weeks. How does it work? Simple, you start on £10/hour, you go to your tutoring sessions showing up your best self and providing an excellent service and after the first 3 weeks we will contact the client to give us genuine a review and feedback on how they're finding you. If they're happy with you, your hourly pay will increase to £12.50/hour. Connecting with your tutee is key, make it fun and well as educational.
The amount of sessions that you take on will depend on your availability and the amount of new customers we have. You will start with at least one per week and then we will gradually give you more.
Responsibilities
* Be able to reliably commute to customer's home on time for your tutoring session (this can be anywhere around Rugby)
* Deliver engaging lessons, adapting them to the tutee's age and level of understanding
* You will be given a stationary pack including whiteboards, pens and some initial worksheets however after that you are expected to print off your own resources ( we can help you find websites to source these from but you need access to a printer)
* Plan upcoming lessons and keep organised.
Requirements
* Previous tutoring/mentoring experience (desired but not necessary)
* Grade 8-9 in GCSE Maths
* Clear communication skills
* Enthusiasm (don't let the kids die of boredom)
* Dbs check ( if you don't have one, we can help you sort it out)
* Strong initiative
