Job Opportunity: Social Worker – First Response, Duty and Assessment Team (Children’s Social Care)
Location: Time Square, Bracknell
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Social Worker to join our First Response, Duty and Assessment Team within Children’s Social Care. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct needs-led, child-focused assessments, including outcome-focused plans
* Manage a duty caseload, including single assessments under S17 and S47 investigations, as well as some short-term work
* Respond to child protection concerns as part of the duty system
* Prioritise workloads effectively and manage time efficiently
* Engage in regular reflective supervision, setting clear goals and intervention strategies
* Monitor and evaluate demand, reporting any resource shortfalls to your supervisor
* Maintain accurate case records in compliance with departmental policies and GDPR
* Advocate for children’s voices, ensuring their views are recorded and acted upon appropriately
* Ensure life journey work is age-appropriate and aligns with the child’s understanding
* Adhere to ASPIRE priorities: timeliness, smart planning, impactful assessments, reflective supervision, and meaningful engagement with children
* Ensure access to translation and interpretation services where necessary
* Contribute to service development by participating in team meetings and promoting integrated, effective services for children
* Provide cover for team members and take on additional duties based on experience and competencies
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* Significant experience in statutory children and families social work
* In-depth knowledge of legal frameworks and safeguarding duties in relation to children and young people
* Successful completion of the ASYE programme and relevant post-qualifying
