Health & Safety Coordinator
Location: Evesham, Worcestershire
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (flexible working available)

The role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Coordinator to support the ongoing development and maintenance of a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment across warehouse and office operations.
This is a practical, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day operations, working closely with teams on the ground, and embedding health and safety into everyday working practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a proactive safety culture while balancing strong compliance standards with the demands of a fast-paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities
* Maintain and update health and safety documentation, including the H&S handbook, risk assessments, risk register, DSE assessments, and incident reporting records
* Develop, review, and implement Safe Systems of Work in line with risk assessments
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are completed and lessons learned are communicated
* Conduct regular warehouse racking inspections and coordinate remedial actions where required
* Deliver toolbox talks, health and safety inductions, and machinery training (e.g. balers, shredders)
* Provide manual handling and general risk awareness training across the business
* Maintain training records and ensure refresher training remains current (MHE, banksman, first aid, fire marshal, etc.)
* Oversee the I-Site telematics system, monitoring MHE and driver performance and producing reports for management
* Ensure contractors and visitors receive appropriate health and safety information and inductions
* Coordinate internal and third-party training to ensure key personnel remain appropriately certified
* Manage general health and safety housekeeping, including fire alarm testing, fire drills, and statutory registers
* Report health and safety activity through Group systems and support audits, implementing improvement actions where required
* Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation, including HASAWA, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, and RIDDOR
* Provide health and safety statistics and reports to senior management as required
* Act as a visible advocate for health and safety, promoting engagement and best practice at all levels of the organisation
Candidate requirements
* Previous experience in a health and safety role within a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
* A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently
* A recognised health and safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent
* Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
* Proven experience conducting risk assessments, investigations, and workplace inspections
* Experience designing and delivering health and safety training to diverse audiences
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
* Confidence using health and safety reporting or telematics systems
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
