About Our Client
A detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join an established finance team based in Manchester City Centre. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering £30,000-£33,000 and a hybrid working model (typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home).This role is ideal for someone with strong purchase ledger experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive finance team.
Job Description
The key responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Clerk will be:
3. Process supplier invoices accurately, ensuring they are matched to approved Purchase Orders where applicable
4. Ensure all invoices are appropriately authorised in line with company policy and Purchase Order controls
5. Maintain accurate VAT treatment on all invoices
6. Set up, review, and maintain supplier accounts
7. Prepare and complete supplier statement reconciliations
8. Manage intercompany invoices and associated reconciliations
9. Handle supplier queries professionally and resolve issues promptly
10. Run payment cycles and issue remittance advices
11. Process staff expense claims in accordance with company policy
12. Process company credit card statements and ensure timely reconciliation
13. Provide limited cover for Sales Ledger activities when required
14. Support month-end close activities, including reporting and reconciliations
The Successful Applicant
A successful Accounts Payable Clerk will be:
15. Previous experience in an Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger role
16. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
17. Excellent organisational and time management skills
18. Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
19. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
20. Previous experience working in a Purchase Order-led accounts payable function is beneficial
21. Familiarity with NetSuite would be an advantage, though not required
