Overview

Job Title: SEND Support Worker

Salary: £23,395 pro rata for hours and weeks

Location: Multiple Locations

Hours and Weeks per Year: 18 / 24 / 30 hours all 38 weeks per year

Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional student support across all curriculum areas and college sites within the SEND Department, Student Experience.
* Work with our most vulnerable SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) students to support their learning, achievement and progression into adulthood both in and out of the classroom.
* Develop supportive relationships with students while remaining professional and deliver strategies to promote/reinforce student self-esteem.
* Provide physical and personal care support as required.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C).
* Minimum Level 2 qualification relevant to the post.
* Ability to converse with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
* Ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with young people in an educational capacity and must understand EHCPs and SEND, with knowledge of different learning needs and strategies to support independence.
* Excellent communication and digital skills; ability to work under direction of the class tutor and use own initiative.
