Senior Media Strategy Lead, Store & Services

Role Overview

Playing a significant role in Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Global Marketing Department, you will partner with the PlayStation Store & Services Growth Marketing team and lead development of global Media Strategies to support our flagship PlayStation Plus subscription service, and PlayStation’s multi-billion-dollar D2C businesses (PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct). Media strategies should maximise ecommerce revenues & service subscriptions by creating the optimal conditions for highly effective, ROI-driven, direct response campaigns.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with PlayStation’s internal Media planning team and external media agency to ensure strategies are translated into actionable plans of activation. You’ll work with cross-functional marketing teams (e.g., CRM, Owned, Partnerships, Influencers) to monitor media performance and update, iterate, & modify strategies to meet business goals.

You’ll need a keen understanding of evolving consumer behaviors, digital, eCommerce & subscription landscapes, and audience and measurement techniques. You should understand how changing business and category factors impact strategies and be able to provide recommendations to pivot accordingly. An in-depth knowledge of digital media, combined with data-led analysis and creative thinking, is essential.

What you'll be doing

* Develop annual global media strategies for PlayStation Store, Plus & Direct to achieve business objectives through innovative, insight-led campaigns.
* Serve as the main contact for media strategy with the Store & Services Growth Marketing team.
* Partner with marketing leaders and teams to develop robust global media briefs annually & quarterly.
* Work closely with the in-house PlayStation Media Planning team to ensure media plans embody the strategy across paid & owned channels.
* Assess how business and category shifts impact strategies and recommend adjustments.
* Lead media strategy discussions in weekly performance forums, driving performance improvements & investment cases.
* Support the evolution towards performance-based marketing.
* Build positive relationships with senior media & marketing partners to enhance media narrative and impact.
* Drive media & creative integration, informing messaging/content development by audience and platform.


Performance Indicators

* Deliver incremental revenue through media analysis, optimization, & iteration.
* Enhance the global media team’s impact, measured by ROI/ROAS, business goals, and internal/external feedback.
* Maintain stakeholder alignment during campaign planning & execution.
* Evaluate media strategy success via performance data analysis and recommend optimizations.


What we're looking for

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferred in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Economics.
* Approximately 10 years of experience in media planning & strategy, with proven success in global growth & performance marketing.
* Experience in driving eCommerce media strategies across the consumer lifecycle.
* Strategic, data-driven marketer with digital expertise and familiarity with MMM & MTA measurement techniques.
* Comfortable working in matrix organizations, collaborative, and adaptable.
* Experience with global/regional roles preferred.
* AI literacy and experience with emerging media tools.
* Strong leadership, digital competence, and collaborative skills.
