We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Thames Water Framework team based on our Maple Lodge project, in Rickmansworth. Location: Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth - some remote working may be available, with occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering a major project for Thames Water at Maple Lodge. This exciting opportunity involves multiple subprojects including tertiary treatment renewal, secondary treatment intensification, improvements to inlet works, and substantial electrical infrastructure changes. You'll be working collaboratively with our design team and supply chain partners to achieve outstanding results for our client whilst ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. What will you be responsible for? As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be working within the Design team, supporting them in delivering multiple mechanical aspects of projects. Your day to day will include: Leading mechanical engineering from inception to completion, utilising in-house functions and resources Collaborating with supply chain design teams and our design partner to ensure full integration, CDM compliance, and constructability of all designs Liaising with the client's engineering and operational staff to ensure performance indicators are met or exceeded within budget Preparing estimates, quotations, and contract documentation, and supporting procurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors Mentoring and supporting graduate mechanical engineers, helping them develop their skills and progress their careers What are we looking for? This role of Senior Mechanical Engineer is great for you if: You have a strong working knowledge and understanding of waste water engineering, including key suppliers and process equipment designs You're familiar with access metalwork standards, large-scale pipework designs for both air and water uses, and can review and check related calculations You have experience delivering large waste water schemes (over £50 million) You can effectively lead and manage teams on site, building strong relationships across projects You hold a full driving licence We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
