Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist
We have an exciting opportunity for Occupational Therapists to join our Integrated Therapy Team in North East Essex.
This vacancy involves a rotational programme across various units, including the Stroke Unit, Surgical, Medical Wards, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Older Peoples wards, and IRAS (Urgent Care team).
The rotations include weekend working, currently 1 in 5, with core hours from 8:30 to 16:30. Some rotations may require different shift patterns.
We welcome applications from qualified Occupational Therapists and students nearing the end of their course.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and organise a caseload of patients and professional activities under supervision.
2. Work with patients and carers to identify therapy goals using assessment tools to evaluate skills deficits and needs.
3. Collaborate with patients to plan and implement interventions to meet their needs.
4. Monitor and evaluate treatment effectiveness, adjusting as necessary.
5. Provide advice on lifestyle adaptations considering the effects of illness and disability.
6. Ensure therapy goals are integrated into the multidisciplinary care plan.
7. Utilise technical, physical, and mental skills in patient interventions.
8. Work within your professional scope as stipulated by HCPC and RCOT.
