Paralegal
Looking for a candidate just graduated within the last couple of years with a Law Degree and junior experience, looking to start their career within the legal field, with the desire to take on their training contract within the next year or so.
My client is a multi branded recruitment business looking for a candidate to join their legal team. Upskilling provided.
Commercial Contract Review
* Review and advise the business on contractual terms, highlighting risks, offering explanations and proposals in line with the established legal process.
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating standard and non-standard client contracts, candidate contracts (with independent contractors, PSCs or suppliers) and other commercial agreements in accordance with business guidelines.
* Develop and apply an in-depth knowledge of the supply chain and key terms, both legal and commercial, when negotiating client agreements.
* Protect the business and ensure the businesses' role is accurately reflected within contractual agreements and advise on solutions for how best to do this.
* Work closely with key stakeholders and internal teams such as sales, marketing, finance and others to facilitate, negotiate and finalise various transactions
* Communicate legal's approach to other teams-including externally when required
* Plan, manage and progress matters on which you are advising
* Uphold best practice for contract review in line withG2Vs process- including approvals and documenting of decision-making
* Draft documents and use precedents critically- complying with all appropriate formalities and ensuring documents are legally effective and accurately reflect the business' requirements
* Support on effective filing and support with implementation of new systems for contract management
Compliance
* Advise the sales team on international compliance queries
* Understand and apply UK and EU Rules of Engagement
* Understand compliance risks and how these can be managed effectively. Be able to advise and propose solutions
* Analyse and assess placements to advise stakeholders on relevant risks
* Research and advise on the risk of placements – both UK and International;
* Checking contractors meet the businesses’ compliance standards
* Understand insurance requirements for contractors and the impact of insurance provisions in non-standard terms
Other
* Assist with other legal and compliance initiatives and projects as required – occasionally on an independent basis
* Support with legal projects and other higher-level matters as required
* Preparing and delivering legal training presentations and upskilling sales and other teams on legal and compliance processes
* Be able to review initial consultant emails and manage instructions to legal effectively
* Enforce best practice across the business and maintain high standards
* Assist with litigation and other disputes focussed legal matters
* Prepare communications for pre-action stages and support the Senior Legal Advisor with managing the disputes workload.
