Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to the post of Assistant Chief Officer – Operations and Governance. This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief Officer – Operations and Chief Social Work Officer, with responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the HSCP’s Operations and Governance Service.
Responsibilities
* Provide vision, direction and oversight for a diverse portfolio of services, including Justice and Police Custody, Public Protection, Asylum, Refugee and Homelessness Services, Civil Emergency Planning and HSC Connect, ensuring delivery to the highest standards in line with national policy, statutory responsibilities and HSCP objectives.
* Drive transformational change, lead on commissioning and workforce strategies, and oversee the integration and redesign of services.
* Represent the HSCP at local, regional and national levels; contribute to corporate planning and governance; lead cross-system and interagency initiatives; contribute to capital planning and liaise with the Scottish Government on operations and governance matters.
Role context and governance
This integrated position is part of the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. The successful candidate will work to their current employer’s terms and conditions (GCC or NHS) and will align to the HSCP job description.
Qualifications and experience
* Educated to Master’s level in a relevant field; extensive senior leadership experience within the NHS, local government or a comparable public or third sector organisation.
* Proven track record of strategic planning, service transformation and partnership working; deep understanding of the legislative and policy context for health and social care in Scotland.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, political awareness, and the ability to lead in a complex, multi-professional environment.
* Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the HSCP.
