Owing to the volume of work, we currently have a vacancy for an experienced Conveyancing Paralegal in our Exmouth office. This role is office based.
You will be confident managing a busy workload and must be able to use your own initiative and work well under pressure. You will also support members of the Residential Conveyancing Department, who may themselves work in a different office, by means of BigHand digital dictation together with assisting (on occasion) with Reception cover (in your place of work) at lunchtime and in the event of absence.
The successful candidate will need to be able to:
1. Assist in the progression of a conveyancing transaction to include:
2. Preparation of draft Contract Papers
3. Dealing with sale enquiries
4. Ordering searches
5. Exchanges and completions to include drafting completion statements, preparing SDLT Forms, Land Registry searches
6. Post completion matters
7. Deal with telephone calls in a confident manner providing clear, accurate and up to date information
8. Produce documents using the firm’s case management software
9. Demonstrate good administrative skills with good attention to detail
10. Demonstrate good organisation skills
11. Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and spoken
12. Cope well under pressure, with an ability to work flexibly and cope with changing priorities
13. Take a positive and proactive approach to work, anticipating and meeting the needs of the department
14. Be receptive to receiving and acting on instructions given by immediate supervisor
15. Be competent in using Word and other Microsoft Products (Outlook and PowerPoint)
