Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client who are recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer. Our client specialises within hard engineering solutions and provides a full range of services in fast-moving, high-pressure manufacturing facilities, process environments and commercial spaces.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical designs for automation and control systems, producing detailed calculations, specifications, and drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure solutions are technically robust, compliant, and delivered on time and within budget.
To be considered for this role as an Electrical Design Engineer you will have:
* Proven experience in electrical design for automation and control systems.
* Proficiency in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical CAD software.
* Strong working knowledge of PLCs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
* A solid understanding of LV electrical systems, control panels, and associated cabling.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
* The ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
The key responsibilities of this role as an Electrical Design Engineer:
* Liaising with clients to interpret technical requirements and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
* Producing costed and fully documented proposals, including design specifications where required.
* Delivering detailed electrical designs, calculations, and drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
* Providing electrical engineering support through critical review of design submissions to ensure compliance with relevant technical standards.
* Ensuring projects are fit for purpose, delivered within budget, and aligned with agreed schedules.
* Ensuring all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are met, particularly for Control and LV Electrical Switchgear Panels and cabling installations.
* Managing electrical engineering design activities and providing supporting technical and commissioning services as required.
