Overview
* Establishing the condition of the system and accompanying peripherals.
* Replicating faults as described by the end user.
* Examine fault reports to ascertain the necessary course of action.
* When necessary, converse with customers to aid in replication or the best course of repair.
* Utilise the Microsoft operating system and DOS-based tools to test hardware or software functionality.
* Assess which components could be faulty, replace and retest.
* Reinstall software programs or adjust settings on existing software to fix machine malfunctions.
* Ensure the customer is kept up to date with the RMA.
* Completely dismantling systems to return to stock.
* Full rebuilds of systems from parts.
* Maintain records of equipment maintenance work or repairs.
* Test repaired/upgraded systems to ensure that they are in working order.
* Provide professionally written correspondence to customers.
* Provide professionally written fault reports, on the conclusion of repair.
* Aid in promoting a positive working environment with all colleagues throughout departments.
GENERAL DUTIES
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, such as Health and Safety; Environmental; and Quality for all areas under your direct control.
* Display a proactive, positive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.
* Willingly carry out other duties deemed appropriate by the company.
* Make sure that any equipment that you use is in good working order and that a physical check is conducted weekly.
