Senior Mental Health Crisis WorkerRole Type: Temporary approx. 2 monthsLocation: North Somerset (Wells & Frome) Hours: Part-time (Sun to Thur evenings 17:30 - 23:00) Salary: £16.09 – £17.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay – depending on experience)About the Role:

* We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated individual to join us as a Senior Crisis Safe Space Worker.
* This role will be central to delivering a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing acute emotional distress, as well as those seeking to prevent a mental health crisis. You will play a key leadership role within the service, supporting both staff and volunteers while working directly with individuals to help them stabilise, build resilience and develop strategies for ongoing wellbeing.
* The service operates on a ‘no wrong door’ approach, ensuring that everyone can access the right support at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to frontline staff and volunteers
* Deliver compassionate, person-centred support to individuals in emotional distress
* Carry out assessments, safety planning and co-produced support plans
* Use psychologically informed approaches such as motivational interviewing and solution-focused techniques
* Coordinate care and work collaboratively with partner agencies and community services
* Promote recovery, independence and wellbeing through tailored support
* Ensure safeguarding, risk management and health & safety practices are upheld
* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service

About You: You will be an empathetic and resilient professional with a strong background in mental health support and experience of working with people with complex needs.Essential:

* At least 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with mental health needs
* Experience of supervising staff, students or volunteers
* Strong understanding of recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches
* Ability to assess risk and develop effective support plans
* Excellent communication and partnership working skills
* IT literacy (including Microsoft Office and case recording systems)

Desirable:

* Relevant professional qualification (e.g. mental health, social care, nursing)
* Knowledge of housing, social care or welfare systems
* Lived experience of mental health challenges or services
