Job Role: Quality Inspection/Goods In Operative Located in Diss, Norfolk (Own transport essential unless locally based to Diss) On a fulltime Temp to Perm basis £13.00 hr per hour Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.15 & Friday 07.30 to 13.30, 39 hours per week. Goods In assistant Shift Pattern & Benefits: * Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.15 & Friday 07.30 to 13.30: basic working week = 39 hours * Overtime when available = basic rate one half * Breaks – 1 x 15 minute paid in morning 1 x 30 minute unpaid for lunch (excluding Friday) * Early finish on Fridays * Holiday – 23 days Bank Holidays * Company pension * Occupational sick pay scheme PRIMARY ROLE: * Identifying accurately, checking, and booking in products received in line with department best practice and relevant procedures, advising of any discrepancies. * Control any defective items by segregating them from conforming products. * Carry out the visual or physical inspection of components entering the company, ensuring compliance with required specification. * Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings. * Proficiency in using manual inspection equipment e.g. vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges etc. * Well organised and focused on quality, an attention to detail with a ‘right-first time’ attitude. * Hold good numeracy skills. * Stocking received products, ensuring they are put away in their correct location. * Ability to cope with pressure situations, with minimal supervision. * Use ERP system (Infor M3) and ensure it is always kept accurate and up to date. * Ensure correct storage of goods inwards documentation i.e. delivery notes, material certifications. * Maintain work areas to the company’s 6S standards. * Good Interpersonal skills for communicating with production staff and delivery/collection drivers. * Proven manual handling ability / previous experience. * Adhere to company Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Policies. * Flexible, positive “can do” and adaptable approach to your role. * Provide cover for other areas within the Stores & Logistics function, as and when. In particular when absence or holiday cover is required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * Experience in running CMM inspection equipment is preferred; but not essential as training can be given. * Forklift counterbalance license is preferred; but not essential as training will be given. * Attend and participate in any relevant training courses, toolbox talks or briefings that the Company consider to be of benefit to you, or the department.
