We’re currently working with a well-established and growing building services contractor that delivers integrated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building fabric solutions across Scotland. Due to continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are now looking to appoint a Buyer / Senior Buyer to strengthen their procurement function.

The business has been operating for over 15 years, growing organically from its electrical contracting roots into a full turnkey MEP and building fabric provider.

The Role
As a Buyer / Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting procurement across the business, ensuring materials, plant, subcontract packages and services are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with programme requirements.
This is a commercially important position with real scope to influence procurement strategy and support the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the full procurement cycle for materials, subcontract packages and services
*
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance, reliability and value
*
Prepare and place purchase orders and track delivery schedules to meet site and programme needs
*
Negotiate competitive rates and commercial terms
*
Work closely with site teams, commercial teams and finance to align procurement with project requirements
*
Support supplier evaluation, onboarding and performance monitoring
*
Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and best practice
About You
*
Previous experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role, ideally within construction, MEP or building services
*
Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
*
Commercially aware with a focus on cost control and delivery certainty
*
Comfortable working with ERP systems and procurement platforms
*
Collaborative mindset with the ability to support a growing business
