To scale and diversify our podcast portfolio, we are seeking three experienced, driven and highly motivated Executive Producers for our Entertainment, Factual, and News/Sport verticals. These roles will lead the ideation, development and production of a slate of high-quality, genre-specific podcasts and vodcasts. They will ensure creative excellence, commercial viability and audience engagement at all times, while aligning with Bauer’s content innovation and brand expansion strategy.
Executive Producer, Entertainment (Podcasts): This role will have a focus on the comedy and entertainment genres, overseeing a diverse slate of productions including celebrity-driven talk formats scripted content and gamified podcasts. The Executive Producer will deliver creative flair and production excellence, guiding teams through the end-to-end development, production and delivery of the content they are responsible for.
Executive Producer, Factual (Podcasts): This role will drive the creation of compelling, popular and inclusive factual content, including narrative documentaries, feature-driven series and talk-based formats. They will be responsible for delivering engaging and authoritative content at all times, working across areas such as lifestyle, wellness, society, crime, relationships, history, music, business, travel, arts, popular culture etc. The ideal candidate will be an obsessive storyteller, knows how to position factual content to engage the largest audiences and is brilliant with talent.
Executive Producer, News/Sport (Podcasts): This role will lead the production of dynamic and engaging news, current affairs, topical programming and sports based content, through investigative storytelling, debates and engaging talk formats. They understand the distinction between timely and timeless. They will have exceptional editorial instincts and naturally know how to grow audiences and serve communities. They will also know how to stay both relevant and relatable to younger listeners/viewers. Each Executive Producer will be a strategic thinker, great with talent and experienced content creators capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. They will be detail-oriented, organized, commercially driven and creatively ambitious, ensuring Bauer’s leadership in digital audio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of a slate of genre-specific podcasts from concept to final delivery.
- Oversee all aspects of production, including content development, recording, editing, scheduling, legal compliance and brand alignment.
- Manage and mentor a team of in-house and external producers, writers, editors sound designers etc, ensuring the timely and cost-efficient delivery of productions, performance oversight and fostering talent development.
- Collaborate with talent, agents and internal teams (content, sales, marketing, research etc) to shape compelling content and optimize monetization and listener growth.
- Identify new show opportunities, IP and talent partnerships within the respective vertical (Entertainment, Factual or News/Sport).
- Work with the Head of Production and other senior members of the team to develop budgets, timelines, resources and scalable workflows for multiple concurrent projects.
- Ensure high-quality editorial standards, production values, and compliance with rights and IP regulations.
- Track and report on production KPIs, performance metrics and growth opportunities.
- Stay ahead of trends in podcasting, media, monetization and audience preferences to inform strategy.
- Serve as a thought leader and brand ambassador within the respective vertical, contributing to Bauer’s industry influence.
- Think ‘audio first, but not audio last’ in ideation, brand building and content strategy.
- Balancing creative experimentation with commercial objectives.
- Building scalable, impactful and genre-specific pipelines in terms of development, talent relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Innovating within rapidly evolving digital audio trends and listener preferences.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of experience in podcast or audio production across scripted, unscripted, or hybrid formats, with a focus on talent relationships, digital audio and/or content partnerships.
- Proven track record of ideation, content production, slate management, talent partnerships and driving commercial growth.
- Strong leadership in editorial, production, and team management, with experience managing a large slate of productions simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of podcast production, monetization, publishing models, and distribution platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Podcasts), including ad tech and analytics tools.
- Technical proficiency in audio/video recording and editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Audition, Descript, Riverside) and project management tools (e.g., Monday, Microsoft Excel, Teams).
- Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, negotiation, and contract management.
- Complete understanding of compliance, rights, health and safety and IP issues in audio content production.
Vertical-specific expertise:
- Entertainment: Strong familiarity with the entertainment industry, including film, television, music, comedy, celebrity culture and influencer-driven content.
- Factual: Deep knowledge of lifestyle, wellness, crime, relationships, history, business and popular culture, with established connections to talent in these areas.
- News/Sport: Expertise in news, current affairs, politics, and sports, with a focus on topics engaging younger audiences (e.g., culture, technology, society).
